The Greene County School District went to 100% virtual learning on Nov. 16 through Nov. 24. Thanksgiving break begins Nov. 25 and at this point, it’s expected the district will return to in-person learning on Monday, Nov. 30.

Activities Director and head girls’ basketball coach Todd Gordon talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about activities and what is and isn’t allowed during this period of time. “From a practice schedule standpoint we can still be in contact with them (athletes) as far as meeting virtually, and we’ll do that three or four times a week. We’ll touch base for a little bit and cover some things team-wise, cover some mental things, and still have conversations with them. We cannot have in-person contact with them, no in-person coaching on our facility or anything like that. We’re hands off, but we can still see them virtually.”

As far as scheduling goes, Gordon said the girl/boy basketball doubleheader with Ogden has been moved from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5 inside the brand new Greene County High School gym in Jefferson, and the Dec. 1 girls and boys games at Perry have been slid back from Dec. 1 to Dec. 12. Ram wrestlers are scheduled to open in a quadrangular in Monroe on Dec. 1 with PCM, Van Meter, and Ogden, and the A.D. is still waiting on a reschedule date for that.
