The Perry School District received a tremendous review from the Iowa Performance Preview.

The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) identified Perry Elementary as a “high performing school” which assesses the knowledge the students have in the core subjects that includes literature, reading, math and science. Wicks praises everyone involved with making this achievement possible.

“Kudos to our Perry Elementary staff and our students and our community for that tremendous growth that they have made. We’ve gone from a ‘targeted school’ and now we’re at a ‘high performing school.’ So we worked hard during those COVID times. And I know it was difficult for everyone, but kudos to those folks.”

Wicks states that the ISASP also recognized the high school and middle school as “commendable” which means their scores from the assessment are in the top half of all the schools in the state.

“With that combination of Perry Elementary, Perry Middle School and Perry High School we have a lot to be proud of.”

Wicks expresses that everyone has been working hard each and every day with that growth mindset to continuously get better.
