The Adair County Veterans Affairs Office will be holding a special event soon.

The Resource Fair will be held from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, September 14th at the 4-H Building on the Adair County Fairgrounds. Adair County Veterans Affairs Director Gwen Johnston says the fair will have many different vendors from multiple organizations. Johnston shares why something like this is needed.

“So a Resource Fair like this is important because many veterans don’t know where to get the benefits and the resources that are available to them. This fair gives veterans and their spouses a place to find those resources.”

The Resource Fair is for any veteran, active service member and their families. There will also be a special pinning ceremony recognizing all veterans in attendance, and a retirement recognition for the former Adair County Veterans Affairs Director Duane Avey. All those in attendance will have a chance to win Fareway gift cards, and a free lunch from the Adair County Pork Producers working in conjunction with the grocery store chain.
