The AC/GC Chargers faced the West Sioux Falcons in Class A Quarterfinal action last night, unfortunately falling 24-14.
The Chargers started off strong, with senior Joe Crawford taking the ball 98 yards for a touchdown on the opening kickoff, putting them up 7-0 within 20 seconds of starting the game. The Falcons answered on the next drive, but had the PAT blocked, and AC/GC kept a 7-6 lead. From there it was a back and forth fight with both teams vying for yardage. Both teams scored once more, and the Chargers took a 14-13 lead into the halftime break. That’s where scoring ended for AC/GC though, with West Sioux punching in a touchdown in the third and adding a two point conversion to go up 21-14, then getting a field goal in the fourth to secure the 24-14 victory. The Chargers ended the season with a 10-1 record.
