The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football Team had their season conclude at the hands of Xavier 45-7 Friday night in the Class 4A Semifinals in Cedar Rapids.
The Tigers gave their best effort, but the Saints had answers for everything that was thrown at them. Xavier scored a 4-yard touchdown run by senior Running Back Carter Hoffmann on their first possession, then blocked a punt from ADM, which gave them the ball inside the red zone, and junior Quarterback Cash Parks threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Hoffmann for a quick 14-0 lead.
Parks finished the night with 4 passing touchdowns for 171 yards, as the deficit for the Tigers stood at 28-0 at halftime. The Saints scored on their opening possession in the second half with an 11-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Ryan Kelly to extend it out to 35-0, before ADM put together a nice drive, which ended with a 4-yard touchdown run from senior QB Hudson Shull (35-7). Another touchdown and 44-yard field goal put the game away for Xavier, who went on to win 45-7.
Shull completed eight passes for 88 yards and had an interception, with senior Running Back Reed Obstarczyk finishing with 13 carries racking up 75 yards. The Tigers season comes to an end with a 9-2 record, while the Saints improve to 11-0, moving onto the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls to face off against Newton this Thursday.
