With the holiday season upon us, Jefferson Matters is encouraging everyone to shop local in support of the businesses.
Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the Promotions Team is kicking off its “Oh! What Fun” event this weekend and extends throughout the rest of the month. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio this Friday and Saturday is the Holiday Open House, with 12 businesses participating.
“So pop into all of your local shops here and see what specials they are running, and see what new products they have. We kind of just need a reminder of what’s going on in our local shops. So, sure you may know that so-and-so is here, so-and-so is there, but have you popped in lately to see what the latest things are and supporting them.”
Wetrich adds that next Friday is known as Pink Friday, with the following Friday after Thanksgiving as Plaid Friday and finishing up with Small Business Saturday on November 29th. He urges people to support local retailers because these businesses are some of the biggest contributors to different events and other fundraisers that happen throughout the year.
