A unique opportunity is happening tomorrow in Jefferson to see art forms live.

Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says Ekphrasis is hosted by the Tower View Team and it is the bringing together of ten artists and ten poets, where poems are submitted to the artists to provide their interpretation of that poem in their art medium.

“And the artists are all types of things. It’s like sculptures, it’s paintings, it’s songwriting, it’s yarn work, it’s stitching, whatever it may be, it’s photos, it’s digital art, I mean it’s all across the board. It’s a lot of different genres of art, which is really fun. So. it’s kind of creators telling creators stories through their own work.” 

Wetrich adds that there will also be a guest speaker, Kelsey Bigelow. The free event is tomorrow at 2pm at The Courtyard Wedding and Events Center in Jefferson. Organizers add the disclaimer that the material may not be suitable for younger children.
