Daniel Ashby, Lorimor, was entering the I80 entrance ramp from Guthrie St. when a car, driven by Evan Dollens, Lorimor, struck the back of his car. No injuries were reported and damage to Mr. Ashby’s car was estimated at $5,000. Damage to Mr. Dollens’ car was estimated at $100.
April 14
Sadie Madsen, Stuart, was traveling on Wendover Ave at 165th St when a car driving by Niurka Gibert Herrada, West Des Moines entered the intersection and collided with Ms. Madsen’s car. Both cars went into the ditch and hit an electric pole, knocking it down. Both parties were checked by EMS and released. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ms. Madsen had an estimated $5,000 damage. Ms. Gibert Herrada had an estimated $5,000 damage. Ms. Gibert Herrada was issued a citation for Fail To Obey Stop Sign And Yield Right Of Way.
Lacey Breece, age 25, 121 S. Hazel St, Van Meter, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. She was also cited for Open Container, Failure To Display Registration Plate and Failure To Provide Proof Of Financial Liability.
April 15
Leonard Houston, age 40, 215 80th St, West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Violated Probation Terms.
Mauricio Melendez, age 26, 300 SE 12th St, Grand Prairie, TX, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear. The original charge was Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia.
Richard Lingren, age 63, 2595 SE Encompass Dr, Waukee, was arrested for Failure To Appear. The original charge was Violation Of Probation.
Michelle Christian, age 40, 815 Thomas St, Redfield, was arrested for Driving While Barred.
April 16
Jaime Suther, Winterset, was traveling on I80 near the 110 mile marker, when a semi driven by Mark Vaneaton, Menlo, tried to merge into the lane Ms. Suther was traveling in at the time. Contact was made by the two vehicles causing Ms. Suther’s vehicle to spin out and hit the guard rail. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated to Ms. Suther’s car at $15,000. Damage to the semi was estimated at $500. Mr. Vaneaton was cited for Improper Lane Change.
Charity Olwell, age 25, 14185 N Ave, Bouton, was arrested on two warrants for Failure To Appear. The original charges were Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked and 2 charges of Interference With Official Acts. While this arrest was occurring, she was additionally charged with Interference With Official Acts and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia.
April 17
Sean Thompson, age 42, 604 NW Morningside Dr, Grimes, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence. He was also cited for Speeding.
Noah Young, age 26, Homeless, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear. The original charge was Violation Of Probation.
Taylor Engelmann, Waukee, was driving an ambulance for the City of Stuart westbound on I80 near the 112 mile marker, when a semi driven by Ahmad Ayyoubi, NewMarket, ON, collided with the ambulance. This pushed the ambulance into a concrete barrier, damaging both sides of the ambulance. No injuries were reported and damage to the City of Stuart Ambulance was estimated at $1,500. There was no damage reported to the semi.
April 18
Andrew Young, age 34, 1302 I Ave West, Oskaloosa, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear. The original charge was Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked.
Michael Kuhns, Dexter, was driving on I80 near the 100 mile marker when he had a mechanical failure and went into the ditch as he tried to exit the interstate. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $10,000. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Steven Mague, Adel, was stopped in the 31000 block of Ashworth Road to turn left into a driveway. A vehicle driven by Maria Zulueta Dumas, Osceola, was stopped behind Mr. Mague. Another vehicle driven by Miley Robinson, Waukee, collided with Ms. Zulueta Dumas’ car, which collided with Mr. Mague’s car. No injuries were reported. Damage to Mr. Mague’s car was estimated at $500. Damage to Ms. Zulueta Dumas’s car was estimated at $2,500. Damage to Ms. Robinson’s car was estimated at $10,000. Ms. Robinson was cited for Failure To Stop In Assured Clear Distance.
Jason Welch, Age 47, 34671 L Ct, Adel, was arrested for Harassment, Domestic Abuse Assault.
April 19
Seagba Doe, age 37, 3274 Dubuque Ave, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear For Compliance Hearing. The original charge was Possession Of A Controlled Substance.
Chelsi Weeks, age 35, 603 West St, New Virginia, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear. The original charge was Forgery.
Nana Zulu, age 28, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence, Driving While Barred, two counts of Child Endangerment and Interference With Official Acts. She was also cited for Failure To Use Child Restraint Device.
