After a fun weekend in Omaha for the girls and the boys making a statement at the Wahawk Invite, it was back to reality with conference play yesterday. Dallas Center-Grimes had a double dose of Indianola soccer on Tuesday night, and both secured shutout victories.
The girls were on the road this time and took their winning ways onto the pitch of the Indians. They’ve shutout their opponents in four straight games, and looked to make it five going into the contest. It was a gutsy performance from the Mustangs as they grinded out one goal in the first half. In the second, they could play a little more freely and, using that to their advantage, they found twine twice more for a 3-0 win. That marks five wins on five shutouts in a row for the girls.
The boys got the home-field advantage against Indianola and also jumped out to a quick one-goal lead. Similar to the girls, the boys also knocked in a pair of goals in half number two for a 3-0 win on home turf. This is their eighth win in a row.
With their wins, the boys go to 8-1 on the year while the girls are now 5-1.
