A Democratic candidate for Iowa’s Third Congressional District is making a campaign stop in Jefferson tonight.

According to the Greene County Democratic Party Central Committee Chair Susan Smith, State Senator Sarah Trone-Garriott will be at the Pickaway Americana tonight at 5pm for a Meet and Greet event. Smith says Trone-Garriott will be sharing her vision for Iowa, and some of her plans to address issues in Washington, D.C, and she will answer questions from attendees. 

According to Smith, Trone-Garriott is a mom and a Lutheran minister, as well as serving in the Iowa Legislature. The event is free and open to the public. Trone-Garriott is running unopposed in the June Primary election and will be running against Republican incumbent Representative Zach Nunn in the November general election.
