Both Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs track teams found success at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet on Tuesday, as both teams placed third. The Mustang boys squad rounded out the night with 120 team points and 10 top five finishes in individual events while the girls ended the night with 106 team points and 10 top five finishes.

For the boys, Darien Walker took home the gold for DCG in the 110m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 14.56 seconds. Jack Meggison and Wyatt Valenta took home silver in their respective events, the 800 and shot put. For the girls, Tenley Heidgerken had a day ending it with two gold medals, placing first in the 800 and 1500m runs. Leighton Stanford and Madison Messerly claimed second to claim silver, in the 400 and girls high jump.

Both Mustangs teams take a week to work towards their best, as the state qualifying meet is scheduled for Thursday, May 14th at Waukee Northwest High School.
