An area animal shelter is hosting their eighth annual fundraiser later this month.
AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport’s Ruff Ride charity motorcycle ride to benefit homeless and death row dogs in Iowa will take place Saturday, August 27th.
The goal is to attract more than last year’s successful event where more than 350 people participated.
The ride starts in Adel and includes a scenic ride through Dallas, Guthrie and Madison counties. There will also be prizes, games, a barbecue dinner and live music from Abby Normal.
Registration starts at 10am at the Raccoon Valley Pavilion in Adel and the ride takes off at noon, returning around 5pm.
If you don’t have a motorcycle but still want to participate there will also be a party bus option.
Tickets for ruff riders are $20 each and the party bus is $25 per person. This includes the ride, a meal, one poker hand and one raffle ticket.
Anyone who wants to check out the evening concert but is unable to participate in the ride can do so for a $5 cover charge.
