It’s Class 2A District 15 semifinal boys’ basketball tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coach Chris Nelson’s Greene County Rams are 12-10 on the season after topping Panorama 67-53 on Monday night in opening round play in Woodward. The Rams face a big challenge tonight when they go against tenth ranked Des Moines Christian (19-2) on the home floor of the Lions in Urbandale at approximately 8 p.m. Woodward Academy (14-7) meets Woodward-Granger (13-9) in game one at 6 p.m.  The two winners meet on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. west of Grimes at Dallas Center-Grimes High School for the District 15 title and a trip to Substate.

Senior Isaac Prewitt leads the Lions in scoring at 21.3 points per game. The team averages 68.8 points per contest and makes 48.6% of its shots from the field. They shoot 34.6% from three-point range with Prewitt at 38.8% from long range. The Lions make 69.3% of their free throws and turn the ball over just 10 times per game on average.

The Rams average 63 points per game. They make 45.6% of their shots overall, and 35.2% from three-point range. Greene County is a 65.9% free throw shooting team that averages about 12 turnovers per game.
