
Ceremonies will be held in Adair and Guthrie counties celebrating their Home Base Iowa designations later this summer.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg and Workforce Development Director Beth Townsend are scheduled to appear. Veterans from each county will address the audience, with U.S. Army Sergeant-First Class Lucas Queck appearing in Greenfield and Command Sergeant-Major Curtis McClellan in Guthrie Center.
To qualify for a Home Base Iowa designation, a community must have 10-percent of eligible, hiring businesses pledge to hire veterans, develop its own incentive package for veterans, display the Home Base Iowa Community designation and obtain a resolution of support from the county’s governing body.
The ceremonies will be held Friday, July 6 at 9:30 a.m. at the Adair County Courthouse lawn in Greenfield and at 11 a.m. at the Guthrie County Courthouse lawn. For more information, visit homebaseiowa.gov
