Tonight is Homecoming for the AC/GC Chargers.
The Class A 3rd ranked 5-0 Chargers are hosting the 2-3 Central Decatur Cardinals. This isn’t a wholly unfamiliar program, as the two teams have played against each other one time in 2020, where AC/GC came out on top. The Chargers are looking to keep the win streak going, but face a team who does more in the air than on the ground. It’ll be a learning curve for the team, as they are used to teams that rely heavily on the ground game.
For the Chargers, senior quarterback Tommy Skram leads in passing yards, with 42 on three of four passing for one passing touchdown. Senior running back Joe Crawford leads the team in rushing yards, putting up 597 on 49 carries, and collecting nine touchdowns. Junior tight end Morgun Nolte leads in receiving yards on the season, with one catch for 49 yards. Senior linebacker Xander Harwood leads on the defensive, with 25 total tackles, 0.5 a tackle for a loss of yards, and one interception.
For the Cardinals, Asher Norman leads the team in passing and rushing yards, with 1,433 yards in the air on 95 of 192 completions, along with 10 passing touchdowns, and 205 yards on the ground on 62 carries for three rushing touchdowns. Brody Hamilton leads in receiving yards with 703 on 30 catches, and hauling in seven touchdowns. On the defensive, Mason Allen leads with 28 tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss of yards.
Kickoff is at 7pm, with pregame coverage by the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network beginning at 6pm. The game can be heard live on the KKRF2 online live stream, and KKRF2 free mobile app.
