The two high schools from Greene County will be represented at the Drake Relays in Des Moines this week. Paton-Churdan junior Trevon Keely is one of 24 high jumpers to make this Thursday’s event at 4:30 p.m. The Greene County Rams will run Saturday morning as one of 96 4 x 100 meter relays.

Keely will be making his second straight Relays appearance at Drake. He met the Relays Blue Standard of six feet, seven inches on Thursday in Guthrie Center at a meet hosted by ACGC. Keely is one of just five Iowa boys to clear that automatic qualifying standard. He won the Class 1A high jump State title in 2025 and his career best height is 6′ 8″. Kory Jeschke is the head coach of the Rockets.

The 4 x 100 meter relay for high school boys is scheduled for a 10:12 a.m. start on Saturday. The Rams ran 43.831 seconds to qualify 81st in the field of 96 with senior Aden Bardole and juniors Jaron Jacobs, Lincoln Schwander, and Zack Stalder qualifying the event. Chad Morton is the head coach of the Greene County boys.

All three Greene County radio stations will air a series of reports on area high school performers Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
