The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is excited to be changing up their story on the Story Walk in Guthrie Center.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins shares that they have a new story for youth and families to enjoy as they traverse the Story Walk at the Riverside Park on the south side of town. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio how beneficial something like this is.
“The Story Walk offers a fantastic opportunity to combine literacy with physical activity, making it a perfect outing for families and friends alike. So if you go down to the Riverside Park and you’re walking around on the path, stop and read the book and enjoy the activities.”
Hawkins mentions that the new story is “The Couch Potato,” which is about a potato who loves his couch, but ends up finding out about the joys of nature when the power goes out and he goes outside. She adds that individuals who participate can scan a QR code when they’re done, which tells the library that they were there.
