May is School Board Recognition Month in Iowa and local board members in Perry were recently honored.
Superintendent Clark Wicks recognized the Perry School Board members during Monday’s regular meeting with certificates of appreciation. He highlights the importance of the work they do for the district.
“It’s a key position for every school. These are the folks that steer and the admin and teachers row the boat. So they set the scene, they help set the goals, set the expectations. The neat thing about this board, they all care about the Bluejays and Jayettes. The other thing is they’re a great team, they listen to each other, they share ideas. We are very fortunate at Perry Community Schools to have these board members.”
Also during Monday’s meeting, the board named Hazel Health as a mental health online provider for the 2026-27 school year and approved a flexibility account resolution and memorandums of understanding for the iJAG programs at the middle and high schools.
Other items that were approved included an early graduation request and an agreement with Perry Education Association for the 2026-27 employee roster and contracts.
