The Perry Jayette softball team managed only one hit Monday night as Perry fell to Carlisle 5-0 in Raccoon River Conference action. The 2nd ranked Wildcats improve to 26-3 on the season and remain perfect in conference play. The Wildcats outhit Perry 7 to 1 and scored their runs in three different innings. Carlisle pushed across a pair in both the second and fifth innings. Shyanne Dubois smashed a home run in the 5th inning to lead the Cats offense. Rachel Kinney provided the only hit for Perry but was thrown out trying to extend it into a double. Emma Olejniczak took the loss inside the circle allowing 5 runs in 6 innings with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.
It will be a rare day night doubleheader for the Jayette softball team today. Perry (11-16) will host Carroll today in a varsity game at 11 am at the PAC and then travel to Des Moines North for a non-conference game with the Polar Bears tonight.
