The first Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader of the season in Jefferson is tonight. The Greene County teams host CMB (Maxwell) with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow. All four teams lost on Tuesday night and the four squads have a combined six losses and no wins.
The two girls’ teams are looking for offense as the Rams have scored 24 and 20 points in losses to Perry, while the Raiders have 24 and 15 points in losing to Gilbert and Class 3A number one ranked Nevada. Sophomore Laurin Lyons has the top scoring average through two games for the Rams at seven points.
The Greene County boys’ made nine-three point baskets on Tuesday in a 67-59 loss to Perry, but the Blue Jays also made nine shots from three-point range. Trey Tucker had 16 points, Trey Hinote 12, and Reid Lamoureux 11 for the Rams. CMB lost its opener to Nevada 64-32.
